Training and support :

Develop training centers to impart essential skills in agro-ecology, food processing and tourism, and support our partners and beneficiaries in their development.

Creation of the Tourism for Help association

Deployment

Creation of the first Le Tonlé training center, a training hotel-restaurant, in Strung Treng, Cambodia. The project is supported until 2012, when it is taken over independently by our local partner Cambodian Rural Development Team.

Membership

Membership of the Fédération genevoise de coopération (FGC), an umbrella organization for some 60 organizations involved in development cooperation.

Doni Blon, Segou, Mali

Creation of a hotel, catering and tourism training center for young people in difficulty, combining theoretical courses with practical experience in a training hotel.

Keur Yakaar, Djilor, Senegal

Implemented in the Siné Saloum region, the program begins with an application hotel offering young people the chance to undergo practical tourism training in real-life conditions.

Benkadi Bougou in Mali

Faced with the crisis in the tourism sector, the Doni Blon project shifted its focus to agro-ecology with the creation of the Benkadi Bougou farm-school, training hundreds of young people and supporting a network of small-scale producers committed to sustainable agriculture.

Creation of a training center recognized by the Beninese government, enabling students to sit the exam and covering the fields of hotel management, catering, food processing and agro-ecology.

The Keur Yakaar project includes an innovative “field to plate” approach, integrating agricultural production and food processing.

Sugu Horon, Bamako, Mali

Support for the professionalization of the Réseau Solifaire en Agroécologie Paysanne et Citoyenne (RESAPAC), a network of producers and processors in the peri-urban area of Bamako.

New identity

After almost 20 years’ experience, Tourism for Help is announcing a change of identity by becoming Tereo in order to considerably integrate the issue of local consumption and more responsible agriculture.

Isabelle is a passionate self-taught woman, who was initially destined for a career in the audiovisual industry. During her travels across three continents, she discovered the world of humanitarian aid and became deeply committed to it. That's how, more than 20 years ago, she founded the Tereo association, with the desire to build concrete projects rooted in the realities on the ground. Since then, she has constantly reinforced her skills, notably by taking a course on "Gender and Development" at the IHEID, convinced that the place of women in cooperation projects is a daily and necessary battle.

What drives her every day is the desire to make a fair, positive and committed contribution to civil society, leaving a meaningful mark in the service of people and the community.

Amélie is passionate about tourism and sustainability, which she seeks to integrate into her personal and professional commitments. A volunteer with Tereo since 2023, she brings her experience as a project coordinator to help strengthen the association's working methods and structure.

Curious and versatile, she likes to contribute wherever she can be useful: communications, content creation, website management or global strategy support. She also follows the project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She was appointed secretary of the association in June 2025, always keen to keep a close eye on all the association's activities and to drive projects forward in a collaborative and efficient way.

The most important thing for her is to make a positive contribution to society and nature, leaving a useful and meaningful mark.

Fascinated by community life and the dynamics of sharing, Zacharie joined Tereo at the end of 2024 to put his skills at the service of a meaningful collective project. Curious and multi-skilled, he is involved as an accounting volunteer, taking care of the association's day-to-day bookkeeping.

Taking part in this human and committed adventure is for him a concrete way of contributing to a more united and sustainable agricultural model.

Addicted to current affairs, Julienne has made it her profession. Her passion? Conveying information to the widest possible audience in a clear and simple, but not simplistic, way. A journalist since 2009 and a Tereo volunteer since 2024, she uses her skills in writing, interviewing, popularizing and editing to support the association's communications and help Tereo reach as many people as possible. Annual reports, posts on social networks, articles on the website, newsletters and presentation brochures: she puts her two cents in everything to do with the written word.

Elected to the association's committee in June 2025, she is keen to continue her commitment to promoting Tereo's activities in West Africa, and to learn more about how it is possible to improve living conditions for local populations while preserving the environment.

Célia joined the association in February 2025. A communications professional for almost 10 years, she provides support in managing social networks, the website and creating media.

Togolese by affiliation, it was natural for her to turn to Tereo not only to help but also to promote the people of Africa as they move towards a sustainable future.

Antoine is committed to more just, sustainable and humane development, at the crossroads of social action and project management. A volunteer with Tereo since April 2024, he works with the Eco-Bénin team on the Nonvignon Center and Farm project in Benin.

With a wealth of experience in project management and monitoring-evaluation, he provides structuring support for project management and the preparation of strategic reports.

Rigorous and committed, Antoine likes to contribute wherever he can be useful: field follow-up, coordination, writing, methodological support... He has just completed a master's degree in strategic project management and did an internship at the UN in this field. He is keen to support the collective dynamics that make sense, and to contribute to the positive impact of projects on local areas.

Christophe has been involved for over thirty years in cooperation with Africa and the rural world, as well as in raising awareness of the various aspects of international solidarity among the general public in Switzerland and France. He first became involved in the cause of sustainable tourism when he co-produced the "Step by Step" game with Tourism for Help, and then, by sharing the association's director's commitment to the FGC's Food Sovereignty Platform, came to discover and appreciate the projects of TFH, which has now become Tereo.

Having recently arrived with a project to promote local products in West Africa, he hopes to contribute his experience and networks to facilitate the marketing of agroecological products in Africa, particularly in Tereo's projects in Mali, Senegal, Benin and the DRC.

Valentina is passionate about sustainable development, food systems and foreign languages. She joined Tereo in October 2023 as part of a cooperation between her university, IHEID, and the organization, which culminated in a field feasibility study for an agroecology project in Cameroon.

Since the summer of 2023, she has also been following a project in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in the summer of 2025, she is conducting data collection for a project evaluation in Senegal. Academically, Valentina specializes in international cooperation, inequalities, sustainable development and economic history. She is a young professional in project management and public policy analysis.

A marketing student, Samya is passionate about travel, world cultures and art, which fuel her curiosity and open-mindedness on a daily basis.

A volunteer with Tereo since the beginning of 2025, she puts her communication skills to good use in promoting the association's actions. Content creation, digital strategy, video and social networks: she loves designing accessible, aesthetic and inspiring messages to give Tereo visibility.

Through this involvement, she seeks to promote values of tolerance and solidarity, convinced that everyone can help build a better world.
