Training and support :

Develop training centers to impart essential skills in agro-ecology, food processing and tourism, and support our partners and beneficiaries in their development.

Supporting and enhancing :

Encourage the transmission of local know-how and networking to promote sustainable and inclusive solutions.

Creation of the first Le Tonlé training center, a training hotel-restaurant, in Strung Treng, Cambodia. The project is supported until 2012, when it is taken over independently by our local partner Cambodian Rural Development Team.

Membership of the Fédération genevoise de coopération (FGC), an umbrella organization for some 60 organizations involved in development cooperation.

Doni Blon, Segou, Mali

Creation of a hotel, catering and tourism training center for young people in difficulty, combining theoretical courses with practical experience in a training hotel.

Keur Yakaar, Djilor, Senegal

Implemented in the Siné Saloum region, the program begins with an application hotel offering young people the chance to undergo practical tourism training in real-life conditions.

Benkadi Bougou in Mali

Faced with the crisis in the tourism sector, the Doni Blon project shifted its focus to agro-ecology with the creation of the Benkadi Bougou farm-school, training hundreds of young people and supporting a network of small-scale producers committed to sustainable agriculture.

Center Nonvignon, Grand-Popo, Benin

Creation of a training center recognized by the Beninese government, enabling students to sit the exam and covering the fields of hotel management, catering, food processing and agro-ecology.

Keur Yakaar, Djilor, Senegal

The Keur Yakaar project includes an innovative “field to plate” approach, integrating agricultural production and food processing.

Sugu Horon, Bamako, Mali

Support for the professionalization of the Réseau Solifaire en Agroécologie Paysanne et Citoyenne (RESAPAC), a network of producers and processors in the peri-urban area of Bamako.

New identity

After almost 20 years’ experience, Tourism for Help is announcing a change of identity by becoming Tereo in order to considerably integrate the issue of local consumption and more responsible agriculture.
